Road America was the scene of this weekend’s IndyCar event, and high temperatures played a part in Sunday’s event.
Alex Palou navigated the heat and also chose the correct pit strategy, which allowed him to take his seventh victory of the season. His points lead now extends to 93 points halfway through the season.
Felix Rosenqvist and Santino Ferrucci filled out the podium, with each more than happy to come out with a top result in such a chaotic race.

There were incidents throughout much of the first half of the event, with Robert Shwartzman and Sting Ray Robb each retiring after hard hits with the wall.
Josef Newgarden also suffered a single-car crash, spinning on his own in the final corner and doing enough damage to his Team Penske entry to necessitate a retirement.
After a brutal endurance test, both drivers and crew members will likely enjoy the one week break. Then they’re off again to Mid-Ohio to continue the season.
