The NTT IndyCar Series took a trip to the historic Road America circuit this weekend, with high temperatures and gusty winds causing a lot of grief for the 27 drivers present.
Despite the challenges, it was rookie Louis Foster that was able to tame the track best to earn his first career IndyCar pole.
As the reigning IndyNXT champion who advanced to the top level this year, Foster was able to use his experience at Road America to put in a time of 1:44.5141.

Championship leader Alex Palou earned a spot on the outside of the front row, with Kyle Kirkwood and Scott McLaughlin filling out the second row.
Scott Dixon originally advanced out of the first round, but he was deemed to have impeded Devlin DeFrancesco and was penalized. He will start 25th.
Drivers will return to the track on Sunday, when the temperatures are predicted to climb even higher. The 55-lap race begins at 12:30 PM central time.
