The new Le Mans Ultimate DLC pack will add new cars and tracks to the game, completing the 2024 season, with the game also receiving a substantial update to add major new features.
Le Mans Ultimate is the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and includes cars and tracks from the series. Released in early access on Steam in February 2024, it has received major updates via downloadable content packs since then, now with the new fifth pack.
They have implemented driver swaps similarly to rFactor2, Studio397’s other game, with improvements and fixes. When you join a server in which driver swaps are enabled, the game will know which car you are registered to drive. You or your teammates can then configure the pitstop for a driver swap to take place.
With driver swaps difficult to test for a small team, Studio397 are only releasing it for special events at first, before releasing it more widely.
Manage your own team
Alongside driver swaps, you’ll also be able to manage your team. There are various roles, including driver, engineer, manager, and team owner. While ‘driver’ is just that — they drive the car and nothing else — an ‘engineer’ can configure pitstops and see data from the car and session.
Manager and team owner, meanwhile, can do the team’s admin, including assigning liveries, drivers, and registering for races. The team owner can also change a team’s ownership.
Each team can have six team members in one lineup. For larger teams, the team owner will need to subscribe to Motorsport Games’ bespoke RaceControl Pro or Pro+ feature, enabling 100 members per team and 10 lineups.
Show your individuality with custom liveries
Players with a RaceControl Pro or Pro+ subscription will now be able to upload custom liveries for a team. Studio397 says for now, this is only available for online events, either single-driver or team-based.
It will only be available for paid subscribers, as significant digital infrastructure and bandwidth are needed for this feature. But, there is hope to expand the feature to single-player, offline races as well in the future.
New content completes 2024 season
Finally, the game has also received new content in the pack. They have added the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, which completes the current WEC calendar. This has been laser scanned using data from summer 2024 and is built to Studio397’s highest standards, the studio says.
They have added the ‘short circuit’, alongside the full circuit, which cuts out most of the second sector of the track.
There are also new cars joining the LMGT3 class — the Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 Evo2 and the Lexus RC F LMGT3. Both Iron Lynx and Iron Dames raced the former in 2024, but are absent from the real-life 2025 field. Meanwhile, the Akkodis ASP team has raced with the Lexus in both seasons.
