Theo Pourchaire has begun working with Simon Pagenaud to help the young Frenchman realize his racing dreams.

After competing for three seasons in Formula 2, Pourchaire raced in IndyCar for Arrow McLaren for six races in 2024.

His arrangement was initially announced as one that would see him finish out the IndyCar season, but plans changed shortly after when Nolan Siegel was brought on for the #6 entry instead.

The 21-year-old is still in search of a way back into IndyCar, and is now enlisting the help of one of the series’ most talented veterans.

“I decided to work with Simon because he is an example for a young French driver like me,” said Pourchaire. “Simon is a very versatile driver. He also worked for Peugeot in endurance racing, where I’m currently a test driver.

“I would like to have a career like his, and I know he can help me become a better driver.

“I do not doubt that Simon will be a great help to me and my future in motorsport. My goal is to win the biggest races in the world.

“Having already won the Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 2, my dream would be to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500.”

Pagenaud has not raced in IndyCar since his dramatic practice crash at Mid-Ohio in 2023, but has been returning to the paddock in recent months.

He also has been supporting Scott McLaughlin at the past two Indy 500 events, helping him with details of his driving approach.

Pagenaud continues his impact outside the cockpit by assisting Pourchaire to achieve his goals, believing the young racer “belongs to the motorsport elite.”
