Hyundai’s Dani Sordo will continue with the team next year and will expand his programme to 10 events, according to sources in Spain.

In 2018 the Spaniard competed in seven events but for 2019 he will run an entire season, barring only Sweden, Finland, Great Britain and Australia.

Sordo's season will kick off in January with the Monte Carlo Rally and will include Mexico, France, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Turkey and Spain.

Meanwhile, Thierry Neuville will run the entire season, while the remaining events could be shared between Andreas Mikkelsen and Hayden Paddon, provided the New Zealander renews his contract.

The team was at Hyundai HQ in Korea last week, where the programme is expected to be finalised.

Toyota have already signed Ott Tanak, Jari-Matti Latvala and Kris Meeke, while Citroen will run only two cars – for Sebastien Ogier and Esapekka Lappi. The pair were testing for the first time this week with the C3.

Over at M-Sport the line-up is still to be announced. There are now few top-class drivers available, though the Citroen announcement could free up Loeb, who is known to be a prime target of team boss Malcolm Wilson following the loss of his star driver.
