IMSA has announced 27 entries for the upcoming Grand Prix of Long Beach on 12 April which will mark the first sprint round of the year.

The field of 11 GTPs and 16 GTD class cars will compete at the famous street circuit venue for a 100-minute race.

All two rounds of the 2025 SportsCar Championship schedule thus far have been gruelling endurance affairs, at Daytona and Sebring.

Long Beach will be the first of two street circuit races on the calendar with the latter being in Detroit.

The grid represents 11 manufacturers in total including the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkryie.

Long Beach will test the efforts of all full-season drivers as the #23 enlists Ross Gunn and Romain de Angelis, both looking to fight in the GTP competition and navigate the multi-class racing challenges offered by the tight walls and select run-off areas.

Vasser Sullivan are competing with both Lexus RC F GT3s which would normally each race in the GTD Pro and GTD categories.

Jack Hawksworth will pair with Parker Thompson in the #12 Lexus whilst Aaron Telitz and Frankie Montecalvo will co-pilot the #89 Lexus.

Vasser Sullivan are looking to secure their third consecutive win at Long Beach with their two-car effort this year once again.

Another key GTD narrative is Robert Wickens’ GTD debut for DXDT Racing as a co-driver with none other than double IMSA GTLM champion Tommy Milner.

The Canadian driver will drive the #36 DXDT Corvette Z06 GT3.R using Bosch’s hand control braking system as done during his three IMSA Pilot Challenge campaigns in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, the second of which he won the TCR class title.
