Issue 282 of our free weekly magazine, Motorsport Monday, is online now and packed full of great content – click here or the link below to start reading.

As the Formula 1 teams take a breather before resuming their gladiatorial contest in Singapore next week, it was the turn of the sportscar boys and girls to show their mettle, both in Europe (Nürburgring) and in America (Laguna Seca)…

First off we have reports from both DTM races at the Nürburgring that formed the eighth round of this year's championship. And what a shock as defending champion René Rast, whose title defence had stumbled, showed the way home to the field in both races after taking pole position for both races too. In doing so he created DTM history as no one had done this ever before…

And with Jordan Taylor (DPi), Oliver Gavin (GTLM) and Catherine Legge (GTD) all on pole for the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca late last night (check back later in the morning for the full report), the scene was set for the penultimate round of this year's WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
