Motorsports is an exhilarating sport that demands exceptional skill and captivates spectators with its high-speed races.

Formula 1 cars, for instance, reach speeds of up to 233mph, while MotoGP bikes can hit 220mph under optimal conditions – watching them race is a stressful experience (in a good way), imagine being the one racing the cars or bikes!

Motorsports encompasses a wide variety of racing disciplines, each with its own unique appeal and devoted fanbase. Formula 1 is well-known and extremely popular.

Formula E has become more popular over the years with an ever-growing fanbase and then you have Motor GP, where you can watch talented sports people race motorbikes. There are other types which are also growing in popularity and becoming more mainstream.

Below we look more into these three different types of racing disciplines.

Formula 1

The most-watched international motorsport in the world is Formula 1. It’s shown live on TV in most countries and brings in the most viewers out of all the other sports in comparison. Each year, teams will design and build their car to race against other teams, to win.

Different drivers will drive these cars – You can learn more about the drivers on their social media channels and what sports betting predicts about Formula 1 when it comes to the favourite to win each race.

Formula E has come a long way since the first races where drivers had to swap cars…

Formula E

Formula E is an all-electric racing series where drivers race fully electric racing cars. It’s there to promote sustainable racing and the cars are still extremely fast (although, not quite as fast as a Formula One car).

Technology plays a big part in Formula E, with fun additions to the race, such as Attack Mode. Attack Mode is where the driver can go over a certain spot on the track and gain a temporary boost of power. This helps them overtake other drivers or defend their position.

MotoGP is very exciting to watch

MotoGP

Formula One but on motorbikes! MotoGP is another motorsport that is very popular and has gained a lot more viewership in recent years. Large national events are hosted for the Motogp in major destinations, such as Silverstone in the UK, Circuit of the Americas in the US and Qatar to name a few.

If you haven’t been to a Motor GP ever before, it’s certainly something that should be on your bucket list of things to do, it’s a great day out and even more fun if you have the budget to stay a couple of days.

There are so many different types of motorsports, it can be hard to decide which ones to invest your time in and enjoy – there aren’t enough hours in the day to enjoy all of them. Do you have a favourite motorsport and have you watched any of the ones we have included in our article? Is there a motorsport we haven’t included that you think we should be adding?

Will you be going to watch any of them live? Let us know in the comment box below, we look forward to hearing from you.
