MotoGP has officially confirmed that the 2024 season finale will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 15th to 17th November.

After the deadly floods hitting Valencia last week, MotoGP has decided to move the season finale to Barcelona.

MotoGP originally intended to hold the finale in Valencia before changing its mind due to the devastating impact the floods had on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo and the region itself.

The organisation considered its options with potential races in Portugal and Qatar but opted to keep the finale in the same country.

The request was made to the authorities to race in Barcelona. It was chosen because it was deemed the “easiest option for fans” who were originally going to attend the final due to the proximity between the tracks.

“The location and circuit are also the most efficient choice, providing a close to seamless alternative for personnel and logistics,” the announcement read.

2024 MotoGP title protagonists Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin will go head-to-head for the final time in their respective battle to be crowned champion.

The Spaniard boasts a 24-point advantage at the top of the championship going into a home race weekend.

Earlier this year, Aleix Espargaro won the Sprint race before Bagnaia made amends for his Sprint race crash to win the Grand Prix.

“More information for fans who wish to attend to see the 2024 title fight decided will be shared as soon as possible, as well as the various initiatives which will be held through the weekend to support relief for Valencia.”
