Graham Rahal will remain behind the wheel of the #15 Honda for the foreseeable future, signing a multi-year contract extension with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Friday as reported by the team.

Rahal has scored five of his career six wins with the team, with the most recent being a sweep of the 2017 Dual in Detroit races. As the team’s move to two full-time rides with Takuma Sato in the #30 Honda for 2018 proved a testament to the team’s growth, they have further solidified their future in the retaining of the fan-favourite Rahal.

Currently in his sixth season with the team co-owned by his father and IndyCar icon Bobby Rahal, famed late night television host David Letterman, and entrepreneur Mike Lanigan, the team has proved to be a perfect fit for the 29-year old driver.

“It’s nice to continue the consistency we’ve had in the program,” Graham Rahal said in a Rahal Letterman Lanigan press release. “All of this is thanks to the sponsors that have given our team the stability to allow me to sign for five years. Obviously that is a long time. For me as a driver, it’s great to have that commitment and it’s great for our sponsors in terms of long term planning and obviously due to their current commitment this was possible. It’s always been a dream of mine to win the Indy 500 with this team, my dad, Mike and Dave. We have been able to win races together and hopefully we will be able to add many more wins going forward.”
