Dale Coyne Racing has confirmed that Katherine Legge will pilot the team’s #51 entry for the upcoming race at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Legge has been the team’s person of choice for oval events this season, and has also been called in to drive the car during DCR’s oval tests.
Legge has contested all of the season’s oval races so far, including the Indianapolis 500 and the two races from Iowa Speedway, and has carried the e.l.f. Cosmetics branding throughout.
She suffered engine issues during the 500, leading to a 29th place finish, and crossed the line in 17th and 24th during the Iowa double-header weekend.
“I’m excited to get back in the No. 51 e.l.f. Cosmetics Honda at World Wide Technology Raceway with Dale Coyne Racing,” Legge said.
“We had a good weekend in Iowa, and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum and hopefully we can have another strong showing for the team.”
Legge will be partnered with Jack Harvey in the #18, with the Briton receiving the all clear to race this weekend.
Harvey had been suffering with extreme neck and back pain since Mid-Ohio, and ended up retiring early from the first Iowa race and sitting out of Sunday’s event entirely.
He appears to have made good use of the month-long break in the schedule and is ready to race this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Although it is expected Legge will also drive during the remaining oval events at the Milwaukee Mile and Nashville Superspeedway, those races have not yet been confirmed.
