The beautiful Laguna Seca raceway hosted IndyCar this past weekend, with the historic track taking up an unusual position in the middle of the calendar.

The race turned chaotic in the final third, but Alex Palou was able to hold his position at the front of the field to take his second win of the season and move into the points lead.

Colton Herta and Alexander Rossi each had strong runs that resulted in podiums for both men, although they were a bit disappointed with not getting the win when it was so close.

Team Penske had a weekend that could be called disappointing at best and disastrous at worst. Coming off a dominant run at Road America, the team earned finishes in seventh, 19th, and 21st.

When IndyCar returns to racing in two weeks’ time, it will be with the long-awaited hybrid components fitted to every car. Whether that has a large impact on the running order or not is yet to be seen.
