Rubens Barrichello has criticised Michael Schumacher for his ‘crazy’ driving in the closing laps of the Hungarian GP.
On lap 66 of 70, Schumacher made a mistake exiting the last corner which compromised his run down the pit straight giving the Brazilian a chance to overtake.
Barrichello chose to go to the right giving him the inside for the first corner, but Schumacher closed the gap, forcing Barrichello within an inch of hitting the pit wall.
“I have lots of experience and usually with a crazy guy like that I would lift off, but not today, absolutely not,” Barrichello told La Sexta after the race.
“I think it has been one of the most beautiful manoeuvres I’ve done and one of the most horrendous from him. At the end of the day we don’t need that.”
Schumacher’s view of the incident was rather different. The seven-time world champion blamed his ex-team-mate for choosing the wrong side.
“I was moving over to the inside to make him go to the other side, he didn’t choose to and it got a little tight,” he told the BBC.
“We know certain drivers have certain views and then theirs Rubens.”
The FIA have chosen to investigate the incident after the race with the outcome yet unknown.
