Doriane Pin has announced on social media of her withdrawal from the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15-16 June after a recent FRECA incident at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit resulted in broken ribs.

Following her new commitment to the F1 Academy and Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), Pin was set to put aside her 2024 World Endurance Championship commitments apart from the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Furthermore, Rahel Frey was set to replace Pin from the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps to the end of the season with the exception of Le Mans, however this has now changed to include the fourth WEC round.

The 20-year-old French driver said: “After further medical checks, we found out that I have fractured ribs.

“Obviously it means that I need time to heal, so we have made the difficult decision with the team not to race the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the FRECA races in Zandvoort.

“This decision is tough and sad, especially since Le Mans is one of the biggest races of the year and for me it’s a very special one.

“I was looking forward to driving there and share that week with all of you and of course my team.

“But, I need to do what is best for myself and the Iron Dames.”

Frey has taken four consecutive starts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Iron Dames.

She will now enter her fifth in pink, or seventh in total, in Pin’s place with teammates Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting.

After taking their first WEC win at the Bahrain season finale last year, the trio continue the fight into the LMGT3 era with their #85 Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 EVO2 for this year’s 92nd running of Le Mans.
