Sebastian Vettel says he is in "no rush" to put pen to paper on a new Ferrari deal, but doesn't see any reason why he won't eventually.
The German, who currently leads the championship by a single point, joined the Scuderia at the start of the 2015 season on a three-year deal, meaning his current deal expires at the end of the current season.
Vettel sees no reason to rush into an extension, but hinted that a new deal will eventually come.
"It is true I haven't got a [new] contract yet, but the primary object is not to look at papers and worry about those [reports], it is to make sure we get some good results," Vettel said on Thursday.
"I am not in a rush. I don't think the team is in a rush. I think I have a good contact with the team, I think they would tell me otherwise. There is no problem, nothing wrong."
The 2017 season marks Ferrari's most competitive year since Vettel joined and he says he remains focused on getting the best out of the team and ensuring they remain at the front.
"I am enjoying it, being part of the Ferrari family," added Vettel. "We are all focused and determined to get Ferrari back to where it belongs.
"That is our mission, our target and our goal and that is what we are working on."
