The FIA World Endurance Championship has confirmed Julien Andlauer will make his Hypercar debut at the Qatari season-opener in the #99 Proton Competition Porsche 963, joining teammates Harry Tincknell and Neel Jani.

Having raced for the Dempsey-Proton Racing GTE-Am effort for the past four FIA WEC seasons, the 24-year-old will make his first step into the Hypercar category with Proton at the 1812 km race in Qatar, on 2 March.

At the end of the 2023 FIA WEC season, he notably drove his first laps behind the wheel of the team’s #99 963 at the post-season Rookie Test, with Rene Binder and Neel Jani also performing laps at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Last year, which was the final season of the GTE-Am category, he claimed his only victory of the season at the 6 Hours of Monza with Christian Ried and Mikkel Pedersen.
