Maserati MSG Racing announced the launch of a brand-new innovative sustainability campaign on Friday morning, which goes by the name of SEVENTEEN.

The campaign is inspired by the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with the Monaco-based outfit targeting to push forwards positive change throughout Formula E’s historic 10th season. Formula E Season 10 got underway last weekend in Mexico City, where Maximilian Günther finished fourth for the Italian manufacturer.

In the Mexican Capital, Maserati focused on the UN’s 11th goal – Sustainable Cities and Communities. Maserati’s initiative can be followed on the team’s website and various social media channels, with the ultimate goal being to make not only push positive change, but lasting change as well through motorsport.

As mentioned, the outfit focused on the UN’s 11th goal across the season-opener, with it having been strategically chosen by Maserati based on local issues in the area. Throughout 2024, Maserati will work with local teenagers at each race location who are impacted by climate change, an issue which is becoming ever more pressing.

Maserati are eager to show the globe local issues and causes, to educate the motorsport world on why change is more urgent now than ever before. Being a founding Formula E team, Maserati have long been one of the leading teams on the grid when it comes to raising awareness and demonstrating support for communities.

In 2020, they were the first team to show support for the FIA’s Purpose Driven inclusivity campaign, whilst a year later they broke down further barriers by being the first team in the paddock to raise awareness around LGBTQ+ inclusion in motorsport. In 2023, the LGBTQ+ flag was iconically a key part of their livery and featured on the front wing.

Aligning themselves with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals is Maserati’s next step in pushing for a brighter future for everyone.

“As a team, we’re committed to advancing sustainable human progress, and as part of racing in Formula E, we have a responsibility to leave a positive legacy in each location we race,” said Maserati’s Chairman and Managing Partner Scott Swid.

“From our perspective, it’s clear that our audience feels the same way – we’ve seen how passionate they are about the environment, our sport, and our vision, and SEVENTEEN is another step forward in our mission to leave the world in a better state that we found it. We’re looking forward to sharing what will surely be an educational, rewarding, and life-changing journey.”
