Carrie Schreiner will compete in the F1 Academy for the second year in succession, driving for Campos Racing in Sauber Academy colours.

The 25-year-old driver took part in the inaugural F1 Academy campaign in 2023 with ART Grand Prix, achieving a maiden victory in Race 2 in Zandvoort.

Her single-seater career began in 2015 with competition in the German and British Formula 4 championships and she has competed in numerous GT series including the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, ADAC GT Masters and 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Along with competing for Campos Racing in the 2024 F1 Academy Championship, Schreiner has been drafted into the Sauber Academy.

“I am proud to represent this team and the Sauber Academy in F1 Academy this year,” Schreiner said.

“After an exciting first season, I’m looking forward to getting back to work.

“Sauber has an impressive motorsport history and I want to play my part in continuing its success story in F1 Academy.

“My goal for this season is only one: to win, and to do so flying the flag for the team, while generating more awareness for women in motorsport.

“F1 Academy is a great platform to realise my ambitions, and I am highly motivated to achieve new milestones with our team and Campos Racing.”

Sauber Academy Director Beat Zehnder said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Carrie to the team, and we are looking forward to our journey together in F1 Academy.

“Despite her young age, Carrie already boasts an impressive track record, which shows great racecraft and a strong ability to adapt to so many different series.

“We can’t wait to get started and see what we can build together.

“With the expertise and the support of our Formula One team, the Sauber Academy, and Campos Racing, entities with decades-long experience in motorsport, we are confident we will achieve great things together.”

“We are delighted to welcome Carrie to the team, and to begin a new collaboration with Sauber,” added Campos Racing Team Principal Adrian Campos.

“Both our outfits boast vast experience in nurturing and raising the champions of tomorrow, and we cannot wait to get started.

“Carrie showed great promise in her previous racing experiences, and we are ready to support her as we go for gold in the 2024 F1 Academy season.”

Schreiner becomes the fifth driver to be announced for the 2024 F1 Academy series, which is coming into closer alignment with the Formula 1 support program this year.

Each of the seven rounds will feature on F1 Grand Prix weekends, with all ten teams branding being represented on the F1 Academy grid.

ART Grand Prix has already announced McLaren Driver Development program inductee Bianca Bustamante and William Academy driver Lia Block for the 2024 season, with Aston Martin nominated driver Tina Hausmann announced at Prema and Alpine junior driver Abi Pulling returning for a second campaign with Rodin.
