Lewis Hamilton has accused his fellow drivers of "moaning too much" about the bumps around the circuit, whilst declaring himself "happy" with the Baku City circuit after initial scepticism about its layout.
The Briton topped both practice sessions on Friday, despite completing just eighth laps on the Mercedes simulator before arriving as well as choosing not to walk the circuit on Thursday.
Hamilton voiced concern that it looked like a motorway in places, but after practice, admitted it was 'enjoyable'.
"It takes a lot of focus, which is something I like," he said. "I've enjoyed driving around here today."
When asked about the many bumps around the circuit, Hamilton dismissed any concerns, believing they add to the "character" of the track, whilst criticising his fellow drivers for moaning too much.
"These drivers, they moan so much about so many things," he is quoted as saying by Autosport.
"It's really bumpy down the main straight and you can't really see Turn 1 that well, the car's vibrating, it's really hard, but that's part of racing.
"These guys want it to be smoother than ever and no vibrations and no bumps," he added. "They want to take all the character and life out of these tracks."
