Alexander Sims and Antonio Garcia with Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg have been selected by Corvette racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports to drive the team’s two Corvette Z06 GT3.R machines in the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro class.

“We’re very pleased with the full-season IMSA lineup in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R for 2024,” said Mark Stielow, director of Chevrolet Motorsports Competition Engineering, citing the “exceptional records” each member of the quartet has with the brand.

Garcia, who has already been competing with the team for some time and currently co-drives the #3 Corvette C8.R GTD with Jordan Taylor (who is leaving the team to race in GTP next season with WTRAndretti) has won five IMSA championships with Corvette.

Sims, who has been competing in the #31 Action Express Cadillac V-Series.R GTP in 2023 returns to Corvette having previously completed the endurance driver lineup in the #4 machine in 2021.

The British driver has an impressive GT record in IMSA, winning five GTLM races with BMW across 2017 and ’18 and this year with Cadillac sits second in the overall standings with co-driver Pipo Derani and won the 12 Hours of Sebring back in March.

Sims’ campaign with Cadillac this season also saw him compete in the centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans and he admitted it’s been a pleasure to compete in the V-Series.R.

It’s been fantastic to drive the Cadillac GTP car,” Sims said.

“But it’s great to be able to work with all the team at Pratt Miller again after two years as third driver.”

Catsburg has an impressive endurance record with Corvette on either side of the Atlantic, having served as an endurance driver in the #3 entry from 2020-22, winning both the 2021 24 Hours of Daytona and the 2022 12 Hours of Sebring and in 2023 he has secured the GTE Am title and a class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in FIA World Endurance.

The fourth driver to complete Corvette’s lineup is a veteran of the team.

Milner has been a part of Corvette since 2011 and has won an impressive 17 races and two championships during his tenure.

As a lead development driver on the incoming Z06 GT3.R, Milner is raring to compete full-time with the car next season.

“I’m very excited about being back full-time again, especially in this new era of Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports, with the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R and all that it brings,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for us as drivers and an exciting time for Corvette fans.”

Corvette fans will be able to see the new Z06 GT3.R driver lineup in action with IMSA traditional curtain raiser at Daytona next year, with the 62nd Rolex 24 at Daytona on 25-28 January.
