Jenzer Motorsport driver Oscar Tunjo recorder the quickest lap time of the day as GP3 class of 2016 commenced their final pre-season test, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The Colombian lapped the track in a time of 1:33.554 in the morning session, nearly three tenths ahead of Trident driver and Ferrari Protege Antonio Fuoco, who notched a 1:33:843.

Both drivers set their time in the morning session, where Tunjo was the first driver to break into the 1:33s. Fuoco and Ralph Boschung soon followed suit, with Boschung less than a tenth behind Fuoco in his Koiranen car. However, neither could best Tunjo as the morning session was cut short by a trip into the gravel for Sandy Stuvik.

Behind the top three of Tunjo, Fuoco and Boschung were Matthew Parry, Jack Aiten, Tatiana Calderon, Charles Leclerc, Matevos Isaakyan, and Nirei Fukuzumi, with Alex Palou completing the top 10.

The afternoon's proceedings were slightly brighter than the cloudy morning session, and included Jake Dennis setting the initial pace. Steijn Schothorst then pipped the Briton for Campos Racing, becoming the first driver of the second session to drop into the 1:35s in doing so. Dennis then brought out the second red flag of the day when he stopped on track.

The slower afternoon times were due to race simulations tested by most teams, but Charles Leclerc set the pace during this time, narrowly finishing the day ahead of DAMS' Jake Hughes. A third and final red flag, caused by Jake Parry, stopped at turn 8.

Leclerc led Hughes at the end of the day, with Palou, Santino Ferrucci, Schothorst, Alexander Albon, Tunjo, Fukuzumi, Nyck de Vries and Konstantin Tereschenko filling out the top 10.

The final day of pre-season testing gets underway at 9:00 local time tomorrow.
