Competitors: Red Bull are hiding their true pace

Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are all expecting Red Bull to only show their true pace come qualifying on Saturday.

Red Bull have managed to secure every pole position this season and their competitors aren’t expecting anything less from the Milton Keynes based outfit.

Despite finishing quickest in practice, Button reckons the Red Bull drivers are hiding their true pace.

“The Red Bulls are much quicker than they show, so it’s a normal Friday. You don’t catch up a second in a couple of weeks,” Button said after practice.

Meanwhile Hamilton, who finished first in first practice and fourth in second agreed with his team mate.

“I have no doubts that tomorrow in qualifying the Red Bulls will pull out something extra, which they always seem able to do.”

Alonso again agreed with the McLaren drivers predicting Red Bull dominance followed by Ferrari and McLaren.

“It would be a surprised if the Red Bulls were not ahead of everyone,” Alonso admitted. “We are thereabouts, behind them along with McLaren, that is my prediction.”
