Seven-time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi says he's undecided on whether he will continue in MotoGP past 2016, and if he does, it's likely to be for two more seasons.
The Italian's contract is due to expire at the end of the year and he will turn 37 before the season starts, making him the oldest driver on the grid.
However, as he showed last year, age doesn't seem to have hindered his abilities after finishing five points shy of Yamaha team-mate and 2015 champion Jorge Lorenzo, but that hasn't stopped Rossi from considering his options post-2016.
"At the end of 2016 my contract will expire," he told Sky Sports Italia. "So I will have to decide whether to continue for another two seasons or not.
"If I continue, it will be for two seasons as all the contracts are for two years."
Rossi expects to make a decision fairly quickly, rather than drawing out the process long into the season.
"It will be like 2014 when I said I will look at it after the first few races," he added. "You have to look at the first five or six races then start thinking."
