Revived Italian manufacturer Isotta Fraschini has completed a successful two-day test at the Vallelunga circuit, north of the Italian capital of Rome, with its new FIA World Endurance Championship hypercar.

The car, named the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione, has been built by Italian racecar experts Michelotto over the last couple of months. It was driven at Vallelunga by Michelotto test driver Maurizio Mediani, while WEC LMP2 Vector Sport driver Ryan Cullen was also present, although he did not drive the car.

Vector Sport will be running the Isotta Fraschini programme when it makes its debut in a WEC round later this year.

The test was focused on calibrating the data from the simulator and the wind tunnel with the data gathered from running the car on track. The team also focused on the hybrid part of the car’s overall power unit, which comprises of a HWA-built V6 engine, joined by the aforementioned hybrid motors and battery.
