Ferrari claims pole position for the 2026 World Endurance Championship finale in Monza.
With a lap of 1:33.364, Antonio Fuoco went fastest in the Saturday qualifying session, setting his first pole position this season. Mathieu Jaminet in the #19 Genesis was only 0.096 slower, getting second.
Earl Bamber in the #38 Cadillac closed of the top three. Antonio Giovinazzi qualified the other factory Ferrari entry in fourth, with Theo Pourchaire in the #94 Peugeot just behind in fifth.
Neither of the Aston Martins and Toyotas made it to Hyperpole, with the #8, with Ryo Hirakawa, ending up 15th, and Kamui Kobayashi in the #7 16th. Toyota already won the constructors’ title in Barcelona the previous race weekend, and both cars remain the sole contenders for the drivers’ title.
The #8, with Ryo Hirakawa, Brandon Hartley and Sebastien Buemi, needs to finish at least 7th to win the drivers’ title.
Hadrien David sets pole in LMGT3
In GT3, it was the #78 Lexus that set the mark with a lap of 1:47.523 around the Temple of Speed. Jonny Edgar in the #33 Corvette set third, only 0.014 seconds behind David.
Ford, Corvette and Aston Martin were the only manufacturers who managed to get both of their cars into the Hyperpole session.
Only one GT3 car didn’t manage to set a qualifying lap, and that was the Ferrari #21 with Heriau behind the wheel, who crashed in the early laps of the session, bringing out an early red flag.
