Robert de Haan claimed Bronze Cup pole for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup finale at Portimão.
The Dutchman topped the class in the final qualifying segment in the #991 Paradine Competition BMW M4 GT3 Evo he shares with team owner Darren Leung and James Kellett. The car starts 22nd overall.
The result gives Paradine the best possible starting position, and a bonus point, as it fights to hold third in the Bronze teams’ standings. The team is now third on 137 points, two clear of Ziggo Sport Tempesta and 10.5 ahead of 2 Seas Motorsport. Kessel Racing leads on 164.5.
“I’m very, very happy with that qualifying,” de Haan said. “Big thanks to Paradine Competition for giving me the tools and the car to do it. I had a really strong car underneath me.”
He was already thinking about the three hours ahead. “Keep the car in one piece and bring it home over the line, hopefully in the same position as where we qualified it.”
Paradine’s second entry, the #992, qualified 13th in Silver Cup.
The three-hour race starts at 17:00 local time on Saturday.
