F.C.C. TSR Honda takes the edge over BMW Motorrad in a tight lead battle in 2026 Bol d’Or, while YART stays within striking distance.
Three hours into the 24-hour ordeal, F.C.C. TSR Honda France’s #5 took the lead of the Bol d’Or on track, passing the #37 BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team.
Lurking just behind the leading duo is the #1 YART Yamaha.
After recovering from an early drop down the grid, the EWC championship leaders currently trail the leaders by around 30 seconds. The #76 AutoRace Ube Racing Team BMW holds fourth position ahead of the #12 Yoshimura SERT Motul Suzuki.
The #5 Honda and the #37 BMW have been locked in a fierce battle since the second hour of the Bol d’Or, when the top three were separated by less than three seconds.
Following the latest round of pit stops which it led, the #5 Honda fought its way back into the lead, snatching top spot from the Belgian squad.
Further down the order, the #6 ERC Endurance BMW was forced to serve a stop-and-go penalty due to an incorrect refuelling procedure.
Meanwhile, trouble hit the Experimental field as the #45 Metiss bike slowed with a mechanical issue, though it eventually managed to stay out on track.
The #4 Tati Team AVA6 Racing Honda was no more fortunate. After slowing down and coming to a halt on the Mistral Straight, the bike had to be towed back to the pits.
The race has already claimed its first victims. Despite starting from Superstock pole position, Team Étoile’s #25 BMW was forced to retire after 30 laps due to an early collision. Over in the EWC class, LRP Poland’s #90 (57 laps) and Grillini Racing Team’s #62 (16 laps) have both been officially withdrawn.
