Tech3 KTM has announced that Australian rider Senna Agius will step up from Moto2 to join its MotoGP team for the 2027 season.
Agius has posted strong results in the Moto2 championship that have seen him rise to fourth in the standings, which has convinced Tech3 KTM to sign him ahead of the new regulations cycle.
The Aussie gained attention after some promising rides in his rookie campaign in 2024, most notably taking a podium in his home race at Phillip Island.
After the podium, Agius continued his momentum in the Moto2 class by claiming four victories and three further podiums over the last two seasons.
Agius will partner Luca Marini for his first season in MotoGP after signing with the French outfit.
“Today, a lifelong dream of mine has come true: reaching MotoGP,” Agius said in a press release.
“So many years of hard work have gone into this moment, and I’m incredibly grateful to Guenther and everyone at Tech3 for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to repay their faith. I know the challenge ahead, but I’m ready to learn, work hard, and become the best version of myself with this team.
“A huge thank you to my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me and made sacrifices throughout my journey. I’d also like to thank every team, engineer, and mechanic I’ve worked with over the years – they’ve all played a part in helping me reach this point. I can’t wait to get started and make everyone proud.”
