Former Moto3 world champion Izan Guevara will join the MotoGP grid in 2027 after signing for the Pramac Yamaha team.

Guevara has been a highly rated rider since his junior career and has been a member of Pramac’s Moto2 team since its inception in 2025 and has worked closely with both the MotoGP team and Yamaha as a result.

The 2022 Moto3 champion won the team’s first intermediate class race in Valencia at the end of last season and was rewarded with a private MotoGP test for his efforts.

After earning one win and four podiums in the 2026 season to sit second in the standings, Guevara has been awarded a chance to show his potential in the premier class.

With his signing, Guevara becomes the third rookie confirmed on the 2027 grid alongside Daniel Holgado and David Alonso as the trio expect to bring strong knowledge of the Pirelli tyres from Moto2 to MotoGP.

Guevara will partner Toprak Razgatlioglu, who had signed a multi-year deal when joining the team for the current campaign.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Guevara said in a press release. “Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how difficult it is to arrive in the premier class.

“It has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from a lot of people around me.

“I want to thank Yamaha for the confidence they have shown in me. This opportunity is not only the result of my own efforts, but also of the support I have received from my parents, my team, my physio, and everyone who has helped me grow both as a rider and as a person.

“At the same time, I am very calm because my focus remains fully on Moto2. We are fighting for the championship, and my objective is to finish this chapter of my career in the best possible way.

“Looking ahead to 2027, I am excited by the challenge. MotoGP will enter a new era, and I think that will create opportunities for riders making the step up.

“My first goal will be to learn, adapt as quickly as possible, and work closely with the team. Then, step by step, I want to keep improving and reach the highest level possible.”

Gino Borsoi, Team Director of Pramac Yamaha, added: “We’re very pleased to confirm Izan Guevara and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu as our rider line-up for 2027.

“Izan has earned this opportunity through the progress and commitment he has shown in Moto2, and his promotion reflects exactly what this project was created to achieve: developing young talent within the Yamaha family and preparing the riders of the future.

“We know MotoGP will be a new challenge for him, especially in a season that will introduce an entirely new technical regulation, but we believe the conditions will allow young riders to adapt quickly and show their potential.

“At the same time, having Toprak continue with us for another year gives the team an important foundation.

“He will enter the season with valuable MotoGP experience already behind him, and we are confident that continuity, together with the work Yamaha is doing on the new project, will allow us to take another significant step forward.

“We believe this line-up combines youth, talent and experience, and represents the right direction for the future of Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP.”
