Marc Marquez picked up where he left off in Hungary by setting the fastest time in Friday’s opening MotoGP practice session at Brno.

A rapid 1:53.303s saw the reigning champion top the session by two tenths of a second, with Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo emerging as an unexpected second-fastest.

Raul Fernandez and Trackhouse Aprilia claimed third place, followed by Honda’s Joan Mir, making it four manufacturers in the top four positions.

Ai Ogura completed the session in fifth, lapping ahead of factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia.

Once again, Pedro Acosta finished as the top KTM rider, followed by Luca Marini and rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu.

Alex Rins finished in 12th, closely followed by fellow countrymen Maverick Vinales and Jorge Martin.

VR46 Ducati rider Franco Morbidelli slotted himself in 15th place, lapping quicker than current MotoGP title leader Marco Bezzecchi.
