Ai Ogura pieced together a stunning lap on his final attack to take top spot in the second MotoGP practice session at Brno.
Ogura posted his best time with his last attempt of the session, with his 1:51.735s enough to end Friday as the fastest rider.
Marc Marquez crashed at Turn 11 shortly after his first flying run, but his early lap time was enough to get comfortably into the top three.
The Ducati rider was undeterred by his crash and returned to the track to head to the top of the timesheets with 1:51.988s.
Fabio Di Giannantonio replaced at the top Marquez on his final foray onto the track, before Bezzecchi instead went fastest.
However, Ogura surprised with his late pace and headed to the top of the timesheets, where he would remain for the final minutes of the session.
Bezzecchi finished 0.091s off Ogura’s time in second, while Di Giannantonio was third.
Francesco Bagnaia slotted into fourth as team-mate Marquez rounded out the top five.
Pedro Acosta finished the session in sixth ahead of Joan Mir, who brought out the yellow flags with a minute and a half left after a late crash.
Diogo Moreira was eighth after getting a tow from Ogura, with Fermin Aldeguer ninth and Raul Fernandez completing the top 10.
Jorge Martin missed out on an automatic Q2 spot and will be forced to go through Q1 after finishing 11th.
Maverick Vinales was 12th ahead of Luca Marini in 13th and Fabio Quartararo in 14th.
Alex Marquez was 15th at the end of his first day on injury return, narrowly ahead of Enea Bastianini’s time in 16th.
Franco Morbidelli saw the chequered flag in 17th over Jack Miller in 18th, and Brad Binder was the final rider within a second of Ogura in 19th.
Alex Rins was 20th ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu in 21st, while Cal Crutchlow completed the standings in 22nd.
