Nicolo Bulega admits his treble of victories from his home round at Misano is potentially his “best weekend since joining WorldSBK” in 2024.
Bulega has been dominant in 2026 so far by winning every single race and continued his phenomenal streak with three victories at Misano over team-mate Iker Lecuona and satellite Ducati rider Yari Montella.
The Italian rider now leads the championship by a monstrous 121 points, and impressed the Ducati higher ups present at the race as he bids for a MotoGP ride in 2027.
Bulga himself was delighted with the weekend and suggested it may be one of his best weekends in the championship to date.
“It’s been an incredible weekend to remember, a hat trick in Misano in front of all of my home Ducati fans has been incredible,” Bulega told WorldSBK.com.
“This might be my best weekend since joining WorldSBK. Cremona last year was fantastic, but I live close to here, so it’s even more special.”
Bulega continues to break records with his momentous run of form, and as he retains the longest-ever unbeaten streak in WorldSBK, he also became the Italian with the most podiums in Misano.
“It’s incredible to break these records. I don’t think about them too much, but it’s cool to break them,” Bulega admitted.
“To become the Italian with the most WorldSBK podiums here in Misano makes it even more special.
“Normally, I don’t celebrate very much, but today was a special day for my team and me.”
Although he remains invincible in 2026 so far, Bulega admits he doesn’t expect to end the season unbeaten.
There are still 15 races remaining in the WorldSBK season and although there has been plenty of talk about an invincible season, Bulega has attempted to quash potential talks.
“It’s almost impossible that I’ll finish the season undefeated; one day, someone will beat me,” Bulega said.
“The Championship is what’s important, so second or third wouldn’t be bad.”
