Fabio Quartararo closes out Le Mans MotoGP practice on top

Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo closed out MotoGP practice at the top of the timesheets at his home circuit at Le Mans.

The 2021 champion posted a 1.30.580s, lapping 0.066s quicker than factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia.

Fabio Di Giannantonio ended the session in third place for VR46 Ducati, finishing ahead of all four Aprilia riders.

Ai Ogura, Raul Fernandez, Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin occupied fourth through seventh, separated by less than a tenth of a second.

Enea Bastianini and Pedro Acosta followed to secure eighth and ninth, respectively, for KTM.

Johann Zarco, who topped second practice on Friday, rounded off the top-10 positions.

Joan Mir followed in 11th, lapping ahead of the Gresini duo of Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer.

Franco Morbidelli claimed 14th for VR46, closely followed by rookie Diogo Moreira and reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez.

Brad Binder secured 17th spot, lapping ahead of only Luca Marini and the remaining Yamaha riders of Toprak Razgatlioglu, Alex Rins and Jack Miller.

Jonas Folger once again closed out proceedings for Tech3, standing in for Maverick Vinales.
