Nick Cassidy took the first-ever Formula E pole position for Citroen Racing at the inaugural Madrid E-Prix at Jarama.
The Kiwi kept his head amid damp conditions, which caught out many drivers, to head up the grid at the famed retro Formula 1 circuit.
Nyck de Vries was second, with Antonio Felix da Costa third.
Norman Nato continued his speed in free practice to take fourth, but was one driver whose lap was ruined after skidding off on the gravel.
Edo Mortara was fifth, with Pascal Wehrlein sixth.
