PREMA will not be present for this weekend’s season-opening round of the NTT IndyCar Series in St. Petersburg.
IndyCar released its entry list for St. Petersburg today, which did not have either PREMA entry listed.
The event promoter also has not allocated paddock space to PREMA’s haulers or pit lane spaces for equipment, removing any hope of a last-minute addition to the grid.
Instead of 27 entries, there will only be 25 cars on the grid for Sunday’s race.
The Italian team made a commitment to join IndyCar in 2024, and last year completed its inaugural season stateside with a two-car effort.
Just 12 months ago the well-known brand contested its first IndyCar event on the streets of St. Pete.
Early this year, however, the Rosin family suddenly departed the organization it founded and helped run for the past 40 years.
Word had spread about financial problems and other leadership changes at the organization, but concrete news has been hard to come by through the offseason.
PREMA’s uncertainty has meant the team has not been part of the build-up to the 2026 season.

The team did not take part in any preseason testing and PREMA’s two drivers Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman were not present at preseason content days.
It is believed both drivers are still contracted with the team. They could potentially be available to hop into another seat should a different team purchase PREMA’s assets and choose to run races with that equipment.
Uncertainty remains around future events, including if any more than 25 cars will be present at Phoenix Raceway or the Arlington GP, which take place during the following two weekends.
The first session for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg takes place Friday, with the race getting underway a noon eastern time on Sunday, March 1.
