Formula E is one again showcasing female talent at the top level of electric single-seater racing as it prepares to host its second official Women’s Test during pre-season testing for the 2025/26 season.
Following the success of last year’s landmark session in Madrid, the upcoming test will take place at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on 31 October.
The test expands the series’ push to create long-term opportunities for women in motorsport.
In 2024, Formula E became the first FIA World Championship to stage an all-female test day, offering a platform for 22 women from across global motorsport to experience the new GEN3 Evo machinery.
That event drew widespread praise for its inclusivity and purpose: to identify, mentor, and prepare women drivers for potential future roles within Formula E teams.
This year, the concept returns stronger. The 2025 edition in Valencia will feature two three-hour sessions, doubling track time compared to last season.
Each of the 11 Formula E teams are obligated at least one female driver, with the option to field two.
Confirmed drivers so far
While full team rosters are still being finalised, several major names have already been confirmed for the Valencia test. Here’s how the grid is shaping up:
Jaguar TCS Racing
Jaguar TCS Racing fields one of the most compelling driver lineups in Valencia, combining experience and youth with Jamie Chadwick and Juju Noda.
Chadwick, a triple W Series champion and established single-seater star, continues her close partnership with Jaguar after multiple Formula E testing outings, having added endurance racing success and an Indy NXT victory to her resume, she brings an enviable mix of precision and professionalism to the team’s testing program.
Alongside her, 19-year-old Juju Noda brings raw speed and fearless determination. The Japanese prodigy, who made history as the first woman to compete in Super Formula, has impressed with her technical insight and adaptability across racing disciplines.
Together, Chadwick and Noda embody Jaguar’s forward-thinking approach to developing female talent—a pairing that blends proven skill with boundless potential in Formula E’s high-tech, high-stakes environment.
Citroen
Tatiana Calderon’s return to Formula E testing marks another milestone in a career defined by versatility and persistence. The Colombian racer has competed across some of motorsport’s toughest series, consistently pushing boundaries in a male-dominated field. Currently racing in IMSA, Calderon brings valuable technical understanding and adaptability to Citroën’s electric program.
Her past Formula E outings with DS TECHEETAH, Maserati MSG, and Lola Yamaha ABT have honed her insight into the championship’s evolving technology, making her a seasoned and analytical addition to the Valencia lineup.
Porsche
Porsche arrives at the Women’s Test with a blend of youth and experience in Janina Schall and Gabriela Jílková. Schall, just 19, represents the next wave of German motorsport talent, having made her mark in endurance racing at the Nürburgring with the Girls Only by WS Racing team.
Her maturity behind the wheel and early success in the Porsche Cayman V5 have already earned her victories and podiums on one of the world’s most demanding circuits.
Alongside her, Jílková brings proven expertise and a long-standing relationship with the Stuttgart marque. Returning for her third Formula E Women’s Test, the Czech driver combines racecraft honed in GT racing with sharp technical feedback, making her an invaluable resource for Porsche’s ongoing Formula E development.
Together, the pair balance fresh ambition with steady experience—a fitting reflection of Porsche’s long-term investment in emerging female talent.
Mahindra Racing
Chloe Chambers continues her rapid rise through the motorsport ranks with a second Formula E test, this time with Mahindra Racing.
The American driver has impressed in F1 Academy with her consistent podiums and race wins, showcasing her precision and composure under pressure.
Having already made history as the first woman to win in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship and dominate in Porsche Sprint Challenge America, Chambers now brings that momentum to the all-electric grid.
Envision Racing
Alice Powell’s return with Envision Racing underscores her status as one of Formula E’s most experienced female contributors.
As the team’s long-serving Test and Development Driver, Powell brings deep technical understanding and simulator expertise that directly benefit car setup and strategy. A multiple W Series race winner and proven single-seater competitor, she combines speed with analytical precision. With extended track time at this year’s test, Powell is poised to make a meaningful impact for Envision—blending her on-track knowledge with years of behind-the-scenes contribution to the team’s success.
Andretti
Local driver Nerea Martí will once again represent Andretti in Valencia, returning to her home circuit with added experience and confidence. The Spaniard’s career has been marked by rapid progression—from F1 Academy podiums to standout performances in W Series and a Formula 3 test with the FIA.
Martí’s technical understanding and smooth driving style made her a valuable asset in last year’s inaugural Women’s Test, and Andretti’s renewed support reflects faith in her long-term potential.
DS Penske
American racer Lindsay Brewer will make her Formula E debut, joining the team after a successful season in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. She will partner Jessica Edgar, who returns for a second consecutive appearance with DS Penske after impressing in last year’s Madrid test. The 20-year-old Brit is a former F1 Academy race winner and continues to be regarded as one of the UK’s brightest young single-seater talents.
Nissan
British driver Abbi Pulling will once again represent Nissan, continuing her growing association with the team. The Alpine Academy graduate and current F1 Academy frontrunner already holds the role of rookie and simulator driver for Nissan and previously took part in both the 2024 Women’s Test and this year’s official rookie outing in Berlin.
Cupra Kiro
The Porsche customer outfit has confirmed Bianca Bustamante as its driver for Valencia. The Filipina racer, now competing in the GB3 Championship, made her Formula E debut last year with McLaren before joining Cupra Kiro as a development driver. Her return underlines her increasing presence in international single-seater racing.
Lola Yamaha ABT
Spanish driver Marta García, the inaugural F1 Academy Champion, will drive for Lola Yamaha ABT. García has prior experience in Formula E machinery from her 2024 appearances with both ERT and Porsche. Her home-country test in Valencia marks another step in her rapid professional rise.
Formula E – a platform for progress
The Women’s Test initiative remains one of Formula E’s most visible commitments to broadening participation within motorsport. The opportunity provides a rare and valuable benchmark for talented drivers looking to bridge the gap between junior single-seaters and world championship machinery.
Formula E organisers have emphasised that this programme is not designed as a one-off showcase, but as part of a long-term development pathway. They want to support female drivers in roles ranging from simulator duties to potential race seats in future seasons.
