Honda rider Joan Mir topped the timesheets in the second MotoGP practice session at the much-loved Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Throughout the second practice session, Honda was the quickest as Joan Mir managed to find an extra 0.022s on the Marquez brothers with a best time of 1:39.119s.

Although Alex Marquez was named the favourite this weekend, the Gresini rider settled for second place ahead of Fabio Quartararo, who lapped 0.118s slower than Mir.

Ducati has dominated most sessions this season, but both Honda and KTM have found an edge on the Italian manufacturer, with the KTMs quickest in the first practice session.

The KTM duo of Maverick Vinales and Pedro Acosta finished in fourth and fifth place, ahead of Gresini rider Fermin Aldeguer.

Ducati’s pace is not as strong as we initially thought, with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marc Marquez coming home in seventh and eighth place.

Brad Binder rounded out the top ten for KTM, while Johan Zarco followed right behind for Honda.

Aprilia have been lacking in pace and grip so far this weekend, with both their riders struggling to make the top ten.

Raul Fernandez found himself 12th fastest while Jorge Martin finished down in 20th place at his home race.

Honda’s Luca Marini was in 13th place ahead of Enea Bastianini for KTM, while Jack Miller was only 15th fastest for Yamaha.

Francesco Bagnaia’s struggles with the GP25 have followed him to Barcelona, finishing in 17th place ahead of Aleix Espargaro after failing to find grip in the first sector.

Miguel Oliveira and Franco Morbidelli fell to the back of the pack, finishing in 18th and 19th place in the second practice session ahead of Martin.

Yamaha’s struggles saw Alex Rins in 22nd, with rookie rider Somkiat Chantra in 23rd ahead of Lorenzo Savadori.
