Rinus VeeKay will not race with Dale Coyne Racing next season after having completed the 2025 IndyCar season in the team’s #18 entry.
As first reported by RACER and later confirmed by the series, the two have split just days into the offseason.
VeeKay, who just completed his sixth year in the NTT IndyCar Series, moved to DCR following a five-year-long stint with Ed Carpenter Racing.
He adapted to his new team and new Chevy power unit quickly, earning a top ten result in the first race of the year.
VeeKay earned seven top 10 results across the season, and ended 14th in the overall points standings, well ahead of his team-mate.
“I want to thank Dale Coyne Racing and in particular Dale and Gail for the opportunity they gave me to re-establish myself in 2025,” VeeKay posted online.
“This year was genuinely the most enjoyable year in my career as an IndyCar driver.
“Especially big thanks to Renato, JC, Nico, Carlo, Brennan, John, Ryan, Matthew, Conner, Ed and Michael, Carrie and Michele for giving your best effort every single session as the 18 crew. This season and its lessons will stay with me forever.”

Dale Coyne Racing replied to VeeKay’s post, saying “It was an amazing year, thank you for giving us your best day in and day out. We want to wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors.”
VeeKay’s separation is the second such announcement following the conclusion of the 2025 IndyCar season, with Will Power officially moving on from Team Penske earlier in the day.
Both drivers have yet to publicly confirm their plans for the 2026 season.
