IndyCar traveled clear across the country since last weekend’s race, more than 2700 miles in total, in order to contest a round at the famous Laguna Seca.

As he has done two of the three previous years, Alex Palou dominated Sunday’s main event and cruised to his eighth victory of the 2025 season.

Christian Lundgaard finished second after making multiple impressive passes on track, with Colton Herta crossing the line third.

Multiple accidents interrupted the early portion of the race, including a dust-up between Kyffin Simpson and Felix Rosenqvist that sent both into the tires at Turn 6. Rosenqvist continued, but Simpson’s day was done on the first lap.

A late incident when Ericsson spun on the run up to the Corkscrew drew criticism from Race Control as the Swede sat on track in a very dangerous area. Finally, after a full lap with cars flying past, did the full yellow come out.

After a tremendous month of July that saw drivers contest five races in four weekends, the paddock finally has one week off before heading to Portland on August 10.
