Meyer Shank Racing is in the middle of its best IndyCar season since becoming a full-time team in 2020.

Its two drivers Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong have each scored a podium and eight top 10 finishes this season, and now sit sixth and seventh in the points respectively.

MSR has never had a single driver finish in the top 10 in points, let alone two, and is well on track to finish 2025 with a whole new set of bragging rights.

While the team certainly seems to be working well together from the outside, its third-year driver Armstrong related that he feels the same about the inner workings of the team.

“Yeah, certainly,” said Armstrong when asked by Motorsportweek.com if there is chemistry inside all parts of the team.

“I think every weekend we’re getting stronger. We’re gelling very well at this point in the season.

“Honestly, there’s no magic potion or anything. It’s just hard work and trying to knuckle down on the details.

“It’s so, so close. The finest of margins make a huge difference here. The smallest details matter. We’re just trying to do all the basic things right and get everything right at once.”

The next logical step for the team appears to be logging victories. MSR still only has one win to its name, which came by way of a legendary Indianapolis 500 victory by Helio Castroneves in 2021.

Aside from that triumph, there have been scattered podiums but no further marks in the win column.

But what is the missing piece that can take the team up onto the top step of the podium?

“We just need to be faster, point blank,” answered Armstrong, knowing full well he was stating the obvious. “If we’re faster, we can qualify on pole and win races. It’s that simple.”
