IndyCar completed its sole visit across the border this weekend, with a race taking place on the streets of Toronto, Canada.
Pato O’Ward was the man of the weekend, choosing the right pit strategy, muscling past other drivers on the tight streets, and finally gaining the lead via a quick pit stop late in the race. O’Ward closed the points gap to 99, thanks to a poor run from Alex Palou.
Rinus VeeKay earned his best result in over three years by finishing second, and Kyffin Simpson put his street course skills to use to secure his first ever IndyCar podium.

Scott McLaughlin’s day ended early once again, as he crashed when his left rear wheel fell off shortly after his first pit stop of the day. The wheel nut failure is just the latest in a string of bad luck that has thoroughly ruined his season.
McLaughlin at least got to take part in the race, while Santino Ferrucci did not. His car was damaged in Sunday’s warmup session and his AJ Foyt Racing crew was not able to get it ready to go by time the green flag flew.
IndyCar’s busy month of July continues on next weekend with a trip out to the historic Laguna Seca.

… looks like the Chip Ganassi people swallowed a stupid pill. Going to be interesting to see if they can somehow bobble the 2025 championship, for themselves and Alex Palou –
