IMSA has confirmed 56 entries for the sixth round of the 2025 SportsCar Championship season at Watkins Glen International.
After the 24 Hours of Daytona in January and the 12 Hours of Sebring in March, Watkins Glen hosts the third Endurance Cup race of the year.
All four SportsCar categories – GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD – all return together for the race on 27-29 June.
Alike at Sebring, 13 GTPs headline the field with Lamborghini returning with their #63 SC63 LMDh and drivers Romain Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat.
Proton Competition also have their #5 Porsche 963 as part of their ongoing campaign in IMSA’s Endurance races, intertwined with the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Only three GTP cars will run triple driver line-ups, including the #5 Proton trio of Neel Jani, Nico Varrone and Nico Pino – after they competed at the WEC’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Another line-up that competed at Le Mans was the Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R crew of Jack Aitken, Frederik Vesti and Earl Bamber.
Finally, Kaku Ohta returns in the #93 Meyer Shank Acura ARX-06 alongside Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, who both raced against each other in the LMP2 class at Le Mans.
LMP2 returns for the first time since Sebring with 12 Oreca 07 machines ready to take on the shortest duration out of the Endurance Cup races.
In the GTD Pro class, the #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evo line-up has yet to confirm who is joining Madison Snow and Neil Verhagen, as Connor De Phillippi will be competing in the Spa 24 Hours for BMW Italia Ceccato Racing.
Ben Barnicoat makes his racing return with Vasser Sullivan’s #14 Lexus RC F GT3 with team-mate Aaron Telitz.
GTD is the most contested category, with 21 cars represented across nine manufacturers.
