Tech3 KTM rider Maverick Vinales topped the timesheets after breaking the all-time lap record on his final lap at the Aragon MotoGP test.
The midseason test offered teams a chance to make adjustments to its current machinery, with each manufacturer trying out different components throughout the day.
The early pace was set by race winner Marc Marquez, who was using an upgraded aero package when he set a time of 1:45.749.
Marquez’s time proved to be the fastest of the morning session ahead of an impressive run for Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer.
Manuel Gonzalez had his first experience aboard a MotoGP bike as he tested for Trackhouse in place of the injured Ai Ogura and went 14th before crashing at the end of the morning session.
Pedro Acosta also crashed at Turn 7, but was able to continue as both he and team-mate Brad Binder tested stegasaurus rear aero wings on their KTMs.
Yamaha rider Alex Rins was comparing two different swingarms as part of his test programme, but suffered the first crash of the afternoon session to disrupt his running.
Marquez continued to lead the way until the final hour of the test, as Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi went two tenths quicker than the Spanish rider’s time.
Both factory Aprilia riders had been testing a new front fairing spotted at Aprilia, as well as some updated wings.
However, with just 50 seconds left on the clock, it was Maverick Vinales who topped the timesheets with a time of 1:45.964s for Tech3 KTM.
Bezzecchi was second, 0.006s behind Vinales’ best time with Marquez completing the top three.
Aldeguer had an impressive day of running in fourth while Acosta was the best KTM in fifth.
VR46 Ducati’s Franco Morbidelli ended the test in sixth ahead of Fabio Quartararo, who was the highest-placing Yamaha in seventh.
Aragon podium finishers Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia were eighth and ninth respectively, as the Italian admitted he may have found something aboard the Ducati.
Joan Mir tested the carbon fibre swingarm that Aleix Espargaro had used at the Spanish GP and finished the day’s running as the top Honda in 10th.
VR46’s Fabio Di Giannantonio concluded the test in 11th ahead of Raul Fernandez who tested old parts for Trackhouse Aprilia in 12th.
Brad Binder was 13th for KTM, while the Pramac Yamaha duo of Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira were the last riders within a second of Vinales’ best time.
Enea Bastianini completed testing in 16th as he appeared to be the only KTM rider not running the dinosaur wings on his machinery.
LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco ended the day’s running in 17th ahead of factory Yamaha rider Alex Rins in 18th, while Pol Espargaro concluded KTM testing duties in 19th.
Lorenzo Savadori was 20th for Aprilia, while Gonzalez completed his first MotoGP test in 21st.
Somkiat Chantra completed the standings in 22nd for LCR Honda.
