Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo topped the classification charts in the final MotoGP practice session at Silverstone.
The 2021 champion completed the best lap of 1.59.032s on his final run to put himself in prime position for qualifying.
A brief pause occurred inside the first ten minutes due to Gresini’s Alex Marquez crashing out at Turn 15. The Spaniard ran his bike to the pits with his bike to try and fix the problems.
Marc and Alex Marquez were the nearest challengers to finish the session second and third place, respectively.
Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer continued the momentum from his best showing at Le Mans to finish fourth in the final practice.
Francesco Bagnaia led the way in the early stages but finished fifth overall by the end of the session.
Honda put in a strong showing as the factory line-up of Luca Marini and Joan Mir occupied sixth and eighth place, with Tech3 KTM rider Maverick Vinales sandwiched between.
Jack Miller posted ninth place for Pramac Yamaha as VR46 Ducati rider Franky Morbidelli rounded off the top ten positions.
Marco Bezzecchi and Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez finished as the superior Aprilia riders, ahead of LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco.
Fabio Di Giannantonio struggled and finished in 14th place, ahead of Pedro Acosta who struggled on the KTM bike.
Aleix Espargaro claimed 16th for Honda on his second wildcard outing, bettering the lap time of Yamaha rider Alex Rins.
Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder struggled once again as the pair finished down in 18th and 19th place.
Miguel Oliveira finished down in 20th, and once again, Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori and LCR Honda’s Somkiat Chantra closed out proceedings.
Ai Ogura will not feature for the rest of the weekend due to injuries he sustained in Friday’s practice.
