Yamaha rider Alex Rins revealed that he’s “not feeling pain” from the horrific injuries he sustained during the 2023 Italian MotoGP Sprint race.
Rins’ crash left him with a broken right tibia and fibula, resulting in a long spell out on the sidelines.
Almost two years later, the Spaniard is still being asked about the injuries that once forced him to use a leg brace and crutches to walk.
“Honestly, I’m feeling good,” Rins stated to the media, including Motorsport Week, on Thursday ahead of the British Grand Prix.
“I’m not wearing any more the carbon [leg brace]. I’m feeling better than than some months ago.
“Day by day, I’m feeling good. I mean, I’m happy because in the bike or in the press, nobody asks about the leg because from long time ago in the bike. I’m not feeling pain.
“It’s true that I cannot run, but you know, in the gym, every day looks better and better.
“I’m doing extra gym, extra leg days, to have like more muscle in the quads and in the glutes and everything.
“So I don’t know if you did leg day in the gym, but you can, you know, after some legs days, how you work.”

Alex Rins hails ‘amazing’ Silverstone track
The 29-year-old embarks on his first full weekend at Silverstone for the first time since 2022, having missed the 2023 and 2024 editions due to separate injuries.
Rins didn’t shy away from his affection for the Northamptonshire circuit, having previously won in 2014 in Moto3 and an all-time classic in 2019.
“I’m really excited to be riding in Silverstone. It is a really nice track,” he expressed.
“Every time I rode here, I enjoy it. Last year, I couldn’t ride on Saturday and Sunday because I was coming from Assen with an injury in the hand.
“But yeah, really excited. This track is amazing. Yesterday, I was a bit more than I did a walk in the circuit [for the first time since] three years ago. So yeah, it’s really really excited.
“Let’s check the weather because it looks like another weekend with such a difficult condition. But here let’s try and enjoy from day one.”
