Yamaha rider Fabio Quatararo topped the time sheets in the MotoGP shakedown test hosted in Sepang.

The Frenchman saved the best lap time till the closing stages, delivering a time of 1.57.794s for the Japanese marque.

Yamaha’s newly announced satellite team Pramac finished its debut session with the Japanese manufacturer in second place, thanks to the efforts of Jack Miller.

Honda’s newest recruit to its test team Aleix Espargaro posted the exact same lap time as his rival, as both riders posted a lap of 1.58.103s.

Trackhouse Racing rookie and former Moto2 champion Ai Ogura finished a tenth behind in fourth aboard his Aprilia RS-GP25.

Pol Espargaro slotted his KTM RC16 in fifth to finish as the lead Austrian marque rider for the session.

Only two Ducati riders participated in the session and the leading Bologna bullet was its newest rookie, Fermin Aldeguer, who finished in sixth spot aboard his GP24 Gresini.

Yamaha and Pramac riders Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira ended their session seventh and eighth, respectively. Yamaha finished its session with all four full-time riders inside the top eight positions.

KTM test and development rider Dani Pedrosa finished half a second adrift of Oliveira and nearly ninths behind his colleague, Espargaro.

Michele Pirro was the sole GP25 Ducati rider to try out the bike yet finished two seconds adrift from the leader to round off the top ten.

Aprilia retained Lorenzo Savadori’s services for the upcoming season to continue its testing endeavours for 2025. He finished the session in 11th place, a distant 1.5s adrift of its newest full-time rider.

Augusto Fernandez joined Yamaha in the off-season to join its development team yet finished far away from the teams’ full-time riders. He settled for second last and couldn’t post a lap time sub 2 minutes.

LCR Honda’s representative Somkiat Chantra finished the session in last place, a distant three seconds adrift of the fastest lap.
