The World Endurance Championship has released their 2025 provisional entry list featuring 36 cars across the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories.

Next year’s WEC season features an equal presence of 18 Hypercars and LMGT3 entrants, and one new manufacturer.

Aston Martin (AM) are debuting a Hypercar effort meanwhile Mercedes-AMG are new to the WEC entirely in LMGT3.

Alike with AM’s past LMP1 cars, both of their Heart of Racing-run Valkyries will uniquely utilise naturally aspirated V12 engines.

So far two drivers have been confirmed in the only non-hybrid Hypercar competitors.

Another significant change is the mark of JOTA’s new partnership with Cadillac after almost two seasons with Porsche 963 machinery.

JOTA has already confirmed their full driver roster with Alex Lynn listed in the #12 V-Series.R and Earl Bamber in the #38. Both drivers served as Cadillac factory drivers last year during Chip Ganassi’s programme.

More driver alterations elsewhere

Phil Hanson will join the privateer-funded #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P next year in replacement of Robert Shwartzman.

Motorsport Week recently interviewed their Lone Star Le Mans-winning drivers, as the two factory Ferraris continue with the same lineups.

Porsche Penske will field two full-season drivers in each car with the exception of an extra driver per car at the longer races such as the Qatar 1812 km (10-hour), 24 Hours of Le Mans and 8 Hours of Bahrain.

Malthe Jakobsen will be making his WEC debut for Peugeot after having worked with the team in reserve and junior roles.

The 2023/24 Asian Le Mans Series champion has competed in the previous two editions of Le Mans with COOL Racing.

He will drive in the Hypercar category for the first time at Le Mans on 14-15 June 2025.

Toyota GAZOO Racing are retaining their driver crew into the 2025 WEC campaign after successfully defending the Hypercar Manufacturers’ crown by two points on Porsche.

As suspected though, Lamborghini has completely withdrawn from the FIA WEC and has opted to solely focus on the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Iron Lynx are partnering with Mercedes-AMG to run two LMGT3 entrants which replaced the Lamborghini Huracan machinery used during 2024.

The 2025 season marks the second year since LMGT3 succeeded the previous GTE Am category.

During this year’s season, Manthey’s #92 Porsche 911 LMGT3.R stormed to championship glory unchallenged.

Finally, the Iron Dames will fulfil an exciting partnership in one of the Manthey-run Porsches and their all-female driver crew.

More drivers will be confirmed gradually in the build-up towards the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
