Frederik Vesti recalled his newfound experience in a Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh at the FIA World Endurance Championship post-season Rookie Test.

“I’m extremely happy to get my first laps in the Cadillac. It was really positive,” said the Dane.

“I expected to have a difficult car to drive as I’ve heard in the past about these cars, but I think I had a lot of confidence with the car.

“For sure, there is some technique that needs to be fine-tuned. It’s a heavy car compared to what I’m used to.

“There are a lot of systems to use to help to go quicker so that’s something that I need to get into in the winter before starting next year, which I’m really excited about.

“It’s a fairly big change [to other cars he’s driven]. I can’t drive directly on instinct.

“I have to think a bit more as I jump in a car like this, but with more laps and test days I’m sure I’ll get it.

“Earl [Bamber] helped me a lot to set up the car, using his suit and seat. I’m looking forward to working with him in 2025.”

Eyes forward to IMSA 2025 in AXR’s Cadillac

Vesti will begin his first ever IMSA season next year in a Cadillac LMDh machine, in the premier GTP category.

He will pair up with Bamber and Jack Aitken at Action Express Racing for the Endurance Cup rounds.

These includes some of the most challenging multi-class racing with prototype and GT machinery, alike the WEC with their Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.

Vesti undergone his first sportscar season this year with COOL Racing in the European Le Mans Series.

He co-drove the #47 Oreca 07 LMP2 to a second-placed finish at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet.

Matt Bell and Naveen Rao partnered Vesti at his first 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year where they finished 5th in LMP2 Pro/Am.

The 24 Hours of Daytona commences his IMSA 2025 efforts, followed by the gruelling 12 Hours of Sebring in March.

After that, the next Endurance Cup heads to Watkins Glen and Indianapolis for two six-hour events.

His only IMSA race thus far was at last month’s 27th running of Petit Le Mans where he finished fifth in LMP2 machinery.

The 28th running of Petit Le Mans next year will close his maiden IMSA season in Cadillac machinery.
