The NTT IndyCar Series announced today that Arlington, Texas will be the newest venue for the series beginning in 2026.

The new event will be a street race around the Dallas Cowboys football stadium and the Texas Rangers baseball venue.

The track layout has already been determined, with a 14-turn, 2.73-mile route prescribed on the complex which has capabilities to easily handle large sporting events.

The plan is for the race to be held in March, effectively replacing the slot on the calendar that was held by Texas Motor Speedway until it was dropped from the schedule beginning in 2024.

“We are thrilled to join forces with the Texas Rangers, Penske Entertainment, and the city of Arlington to bring Grand Prix racing to the streets of the Arlington Entertainment District,” said owner of the Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones.

“The collaboration between our organizations will make the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington special, providing a unique NTT IndyCar Series race experience for fans attending, while also creating a showcase with our friends at FOX and those watching around the world.

“An event of this magnitude is another great reflection of what we imagined over 15 years ago that AT&T Stadium could be a part of.”

Included in today’s announcement was the naming of Bill Miller as the president of the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington.

Miller has previously served as president of California Speedway and has experience organizing events of similar magnitude.

IndyCar and the organizations that control the land around the stadiums will work together to bring the new event to life.

It is expected that the NTT IndyCar Series and the IndyNXT by Firestone Series will both participate in the event weekend.

A Truly Remarkable Partnership

“Through a truly remarkable and innovative partnership, we’re going to build racing’s next global spectacle,” said Roger Penske.

“Everyone involved is fully committed to delivering an incredible and unique event weekend for the city of Arlington, anchored by the stars of the NTT IndyCar Series.

“We’re grateful to the Cowboys, Rangers and REV Entertainment for entering into this partnership with us, and, of course, to Arlington’s leadership team for their excitement and ongoing support.”

Arlington, Texas has a population of nearly 400,000 and sits adjacent to the larger cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. It is also much more central to the Metroplex than Texas Motor Speedway was.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most valuable franchises in the NFL and the Texas Rangers are the reigning MLB champions, with each team having a dedicated following both in the area and across the country.

The DFW region continues to experience record population growth, and IndyCar is expecting the new event to draw a lot of attention.
