The final qualifying session of the 2024 IndyCar season was held Saturday afternoon, with 27 drivers tackling the Nashville Superspeedway to set the order for Sunday’s finale.
Kyle Kirkwood was the fastest driver of the afternoon, completing his two lap run in 47.5189 seconds and averaging 201.520 MPH. The pole was his first on an oval, and the second of his IndyCar career.
Josef Newgarden was the second quickest, with Felix Rosenqvist completing the third fastest set of laps.

Will Power qualified in fourth, well ahead of his championship rival. Alex Palou set the 15th fastest time, and will drop all the way to 24th due to an engine penalty.
Palou comes into the weekend holding a 33 point lead over Power, and will be looking to make sure he does not give up too much ground so as to give away the championship in the final race of the season.
The season finale gets underway Sunday at 2:15 PM central time, with 206 laps of the 1.33-mile oval on the schedule.
